About the Editor
Earl Puckett, a PGA teaching professional, brings a new perspective to Golfer’s Digest’s traditionally strong instructional features. Earl is the first golf pro to edit this book and he comes to it as a highly regarded teacher and successful custom clubmaker.
Head professional at Northmoor Country Club, Highland Park, Ill., Earl has been a pro for 12 years. His tournament credits include: Winner of the Palos Open in 1971, Runner-up finish to Frank Stranahan in the 1960 Ohio Open, Member of the U. of New Mexico Skyline Conference championship teams of 1957-58-59, Albuquerque City Amatuer Champion in 1956, New Mexico Jr. Champion, and New Mexico State High School Champion in 1953.
A native of Las Vegas, New Mexico, Earl also worked for a custom club maker in Akron, Ohio, and was assistant to Hubby Habjan at the Onwentsia Club, Lake Forest, Ill., before coming to Northmoor in 1966. He, his wife Karen, and four daughters live in Deerfield, Ill.
