ON THE COVER
Bob Goalby’s rugged featured correctly reflect the very determined character of the man within. When this Illinoisan first hit the Professional Golfers Association tour in 1958, he became an immediate success, winning a tournament and being named Rookie of the Year by GOLF Digest. For a time, Goalby kept on improving but somehow he failed to develop into the stature others had expected of him. Eventually, he fell into a slump that began to seem endless. However, Goalby is a fighter, and with the sage advice of old friend Sam Snead and the technical help of ace teacher Johnny Revolta, Goalby started on a surge in 1966 that may carry him further in 1967.
